The Family Recovers
At The Family Recovers, our core values are not simply professed, they are practiced.
Our values are the foundation upon which our model is built.
INTEGRITY I take seriously the honor of coming into a family’s life at a painful and vulnerable time. As a standalone family wellness program, my only client is the family. You can trust that your story will remain confidential, and that all recommendations are for the specific family in front of me, with no other agenda.
COMPASSION As a person in long-term recovery who has had many loved ones struggle with the disease of addiction - some who have found recovery and some who have not - I come to family recovery coaching with profound empathy and compassion for everyone involved, because I have been everyone involved.
GENEROSITY I truly believe that everybody is doing their best, 100% of the time, given their family of origin, mental health, trauma, substance use, education, and tools they may or may not have at their disposal. In therapeutic circles this is referred to as unconditional positive regard. I meet my clients where they are, without judgment, and view all actions, decisions, mistakes, and struggles through the most generous lens possible.
COURAGE It is an act of bravery to take responsibility for your own recovery and healing. In the family recovery coaching process, we embrace vulnerability and engage in courageous conversations. Courage is required to fight for your health, your serenity, and the well-being of your family.
CURIOSITY All learning and transformation begin with curiosity. What more is there to know about this? How could this be different? When we are in enough discomfort to get curious about a different way of being, willingness is born. The coaching process is predicated on the coach asking powerful, thought provoking questions and the client looking inward to find their own answers.
